I would love to be able to read the bible in a year with the NLT. It is my favorite translation since I was a young child.

Wow, great to combine the NLT with a chronological Bible, *and* in a Bible-in-a-year format!

13th January, 2011 at 5:09 pm

After reading the Amplified Bible for so many years, the NLT is such a great blessing. Its easy language sort of amplifies the Amplified!

13th January, 2011 at 5:18 pm

I have always wanted to read the Bible in chronological order. Maybe this will be the year.

13th January, 2011 at 5:22 pm

This is my favorite translation to read. It would be nice to have a version that has the scriptures set up to read throughout the year!

I would love to have a new Bible. My old one is falling apart and we can’t afford to get a new one. 2010 was a very bad year for us and we are praying that the Lord will bless us in 2011.

Another thought: I am the children’s minister at the church I attend and run the Children’s Church. I have NIVs in the classrooms for us to use, but I bring in my NLT for comparison. The younger kids find it easier to read aloud, and poor readers are actually volunteering to read!

I want to enter this time for somebody else. I put his E-Mail in here and his facebook website. Hope he wins. He wants so badly a bible. He talks always about it. His name is Marlon James Palma Sallach from the Philippines. God bless you.

Our church uses the NLT and our church newsletter ran a Chronological daily reading plan last year. It really gives the Bible an historical perspective that you don’t usually get.

I need to reconnect with God and I’ve been wanting to read my Bible again, but a new type of Bible.
I feel this would really help me & Him to reconnect again – through his word & not only through prayer!
Sometimes you need some theory before you can do the practical & the Bible is a great book for that!

I read the entire NLT Bible thru in 2010. Clear concise and completely understandable for the average person. I praise God for the NLT. More people will be encouraged by reading a Bible in an clear concise conversational language. Great for everyone from Children to Senior Citizens like myself.

I am new to reading the bible and this would really help 🙂 thanks!

Count me in.
I like the NLT…consider it the true successor to the old NIV, which my church used to use until it went with ESV, which to me is just the RSV with a few words changed. (Always find it funny when folks will diss the RSV and praise the ESV all in the same breath.) Anyway, the NIV seems to have sort of lost its way lately, at least marketing-wise, and although I have no problem with the inclusive language of the newer NIVs, they just don’t have the “flow” of the NLT or the old NIV.

Don’t give up, our forgiveness has been paid for. None of us are perfect, but His Mercies are new every morning! How comforting to know that! The only thing that is free in this world is the gift of eternal life! How amazing is it to know that the most precious gift of all is the only one that is free!
