The New Living Translation
Thursday Giveaway: Operation Worship Bible

***Thanks to all who participated, the winner has been chosen.***

Operation Worship first started sending special Army edition NLT Bibles to troops in 2008. A year later a special edition NLT Bible was made for each branch of the U.S. military and a home front edition. Three years later they are still going strong.

Description from Tyndale.com:

Give the gift that matters most in the place it’s needed most. Last year CBA stores took up the challenge of sending 500,000 Bibles to our men and women in uniform. Now available for the general trade a special edition for the soldiers that serve the United States around the world.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches we want to remember and honor those who have served in the U.S. Military. Leave a comment and tell us your memories or appreciation of those who have served.

We’ll choose five random commenters to win a copy of the Operation Worship Bible.

They continue to stand guard against the enemy as we live our daily lives often unaware of their sacrifices and the sacrifices of their families…I pray God’s blessing upon each of you who are serving and thank God for each one who has served in the past or has given their lives for the freedoms we enjoy. May God protect you and bless you, may He smile upon you and grant you His peace as He holds you in His loving hand. with gratefulness….

I’m grateful for my cousins, uncles, and grandfathers who have served as well as my friends who entered the military after high school or community college. Jesus said, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13 NLT)”, and the willingness of our troops do just this is an act of love for our nation.

My brother-in-law served two tours of duty in Iraq and if I were chosen I would give this bible to him. I know that he would greatly appreciate it!

My grandson served in the Marines – he just got his honorable discharge – and was deployed in Afghanistan as well as on a ship. I went to see him off for his deployment to Afghanistan and spent the day in his room the day before they left. I will never forget those wonderful, brave and courageous warriors! They were so helpful to each other and treated me with such respect. My grandson lost 3 of his best buddies in Afghanistan and had their names and dates they fell tattooed on his back. Though I don’t like tattoos, that was one I was proud of him for getting!

My Nephew joined the Marines just weeks prior to September 11th. He survived 2 tours of Iraq and has served our country selflessly. He is an inspiration to our whole family
