Genesis 5:21 When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters. 23 Enoch lived
365 years, 24 walking in close fellow ship with
God. Then one day he disappeared, because
God took him.
What joy we have to know that one can walk even closer with the Lord as time spent with the Lord draws us nearer and nearer to our Lord with daily fellowship and obedience!

Matthew5:1 One day as he saw the crowds gathering, Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around him, 2 and he began to teach them.

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love
Will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord

John 3:16 is probably the most well known verse, but it is the Gospel in ONE verse. Here it is from the NLT: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Isaiah 1:18

New Living Translation (NLT)

18 “Come now, let’s settle this,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool.

I posted a favorite verse on the NLT Facebook page.

Romans 10:9-10 NLT

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

Thank you. 🙂

NLT is one of my top five Bibles in LOGOS Bible Software – thank you for a readable modern translation.

22nd September, 2011 at 11:41 pm

Addition to my previous note – I did complete the first step.

23rd September, 2011 at 12:45 am

The first time I read the Bible through was a NLT one. I was excited to have read it because I had a Bible, King James, all of my life and I was in my early 40’s the first time I decided to read it through. It was like reading a history book or novel. Since then, I have read and given Bibles away. When I get to the last scripture I then decide who God wants me to give it to. Some are waiting to go to their owner.

I’d really love to have the parallel version because it would be much easier and quicker to cross reference. It will be a blessing to whoever wins. Thank you for the opportunity to be in the drawing.
