The New Living Translation
Thursday Giveaway – Holy Bible: Mosaic NLT

The Holy Bible: Mosaic NLT is one of my favorite NLT Bibles that is currently being produced. I have several favorites like the NLT Study Bible, the One Year Bible and the Tyndale Select Bible , but the one I find myself most often carrying with me is the Mosaic Bible (and not just because it’s the one I keep leaving in my car).

Description from Tyndale.com:

Holy Bible: Mosaic is about helping you encounter Christ in a deep and authentic way, through insight from every continent and century of the Christian Church. Historical and contemporary art and writings from across the globe offer a depth of Scriptural wisdom and understanding as you read and reflect on God’s word

You can check out the great Holy Bible: Mosaic NLT website and even preview it online.

Want to win a copy of this Bible?

Leave a comment telling us how you discovered the NLT (it must be at least 2 sentences long).

We’ll choose one winner at random.

Looking forward to reading some great stories!

I found the NLT Bible online when studying for a Sunday School lesson. It helped me so much that I continued to use the NLT Bible as a resource.

I found NLT last year. My story is quiet a bit. I was just back from Germany in July where my daddy died and I just showed him my last respect. (I’m German) Anyway from there on I had some experiences with some butterflies and just thought that somebody might want to tell me something. I was not knowing the Bible at that point. As a prior Catholic in Germany we didn’t used own Bibles. So I never really got the whole picture and as I grew up I signed off (in Germany you can do this) from church as I couldn’t agree with a lot of things. I was around 15 when I stopped going in church back then. Never really thought much about it. Just out of tradition I had both of my kids as baby baptized. I know now it was wrong to do it just because of that. Back to last year. I came to a point where I asked if all this (like the butterlfies) should tell me something. I told myself that I might have to check back with God and I might need to find out more about him and to read his words. So I went into an local store and told the Lady I want a Bible, one I can understand with my not perfect english and not so complicated since it will be the first time. She got a few versions out and she picked the same chapter in each one and told me we will read each one of them and we will see which one I understand best from them. She also started sharing the gospel with me and told me whenever I think to start going to a church even just to find out more I can give her a call and she will be happy to invite me to the church where she goes. So we read in those different Bibles she picked (NIV, NKJV, NLT) the same chapter and we choose another chapter. She really took time for me. I came to the conclusion that the NLT is the best translation for me. I started reading the new testament first and I couldn’t stop reading. I got my Bible at the 2nd of September 2010 and never stopped reading yet. In October on the 17th I got baptized in the same church the Lady from the store is going. I got saved! I love the Lord and love my NLT translation. In church they read the the American Standard Bible but I stick with my NLT. I hope this is not to long. I would love to read the Mosaic Holy Bible too. Thanks for reading.

I discovered the NLT while searching for a bible for my teenage son who is autistic. I wanted him to have something simple he could read and understand. I find myself borrowing his NLT quite often! He loves it and so do I!

I received a free copy of the gospel of John in NLT, and I was genuinely amazed at the clarity with which I was able to read it! I couldn’t wait to get a full NLT Bible, and I did so in 2004. My relationship with God has grown tremendously, and I’ve become a Sunday School teacher! I would love to win the Mosaic NLT Bible!

I came across the NLT at a garage sale. We were just out for a Saturday drive in the country when we stopped at a pole barn sale.

The NLT is the BEST and EASIEST to understand version that I have read in my life.

My brother recently got saved and he did not a Bible so I gave him my NLT. I really miss it. I use to really only read the KJV. Since I started reading the NLT, my eyes have been opened by leaps and bounds.

I found out about the NLT in when I started Bible school. I was struggling to understand when we were studying the prophets and I looked around at different translations and found the NLT in our bookstore. I love it. I use it when I speak in youth groups and groups like that

I have heard several preachers use the NLT. I like to read different versions for a better understanding of Scripture passages. The NLT often sheds light on meanings that could otherwise be missed and are great to share.

The NLT Study Bible blessed my life and walk with God, my family, and all those that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies blessed me to minister to. One phrase the NLT Study Bible added to my heart and my life is, how the Lord “lavishes” His “unfailing love” upon us. Daily the study notes, chapter introductions and other helps sprinkle magnesium on the fire in my heart for the Lord and His Word! So I am very excited at the blessing this Mosaic Bible will add to our lives. Pass it on!

I used the NIV for years. We started going to a different church and the new pastor would quote from the NLT while teaching. I liked what I was hearing.

I was at a workshop where Timothy Botts was demonstrating his art. He included examples from his (at the time) recently published Botts Illustrated Edition of the NLT and that’s where I first learned about the translation.

I love to study the Bible. I have read the Living Bible, the NIV, and the NAS. However, now I am exploring other versions as well, so that I can compare them. It just seems that you get a richer interpretation when you read more than one version. Sometimes God can use one version to speak to you more clearly than another version. I would love to have a MOSAIC Bible. I am currently reading a Lenten devotional online from this version.

I discovered the NLT when I was eighteen. I had been in church my whole life, but my faith had “grown stale”. After finding an NLT Bible at my local Christian bookstore, I started digging into the scriptures in a way I hadn’t before. For the first time in my spiritual walk, the stories of the Bibles came alive. It was then that I realized just how unbelievably exciting my faith really was.

I found the NLT several years ago when I was a Sunday School teacher. I wanted a text that I could use for the wide variety of class members I had. I found the NLT would bring a fresh clarity to members of my class who were more familiar with scripture and still be very accessible to ones who were newer to Bible study. I think that the NLT is the perfect balance of understandability and accuracy.
I’m a pastor now and continue to go to the NLT for the same reasons.

I think discovered the NLT when it first came out. I loved the way the Living Bible read, but I wanted something with a more fidelity to the original languages. I was excited to see that the NLT was a translation rather than just a paraphrase. I would love the Mosaic NLT Bible.

I bought my mom one and I was still reading the NIV when by chance I went and compared a scripture in both bibles and the way that the NLT expressed it had revelation revealed to me in an instance. The way that it relates the messages is astounding and I haven’t looked back since.

I read daily devotionals by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church and he usually quotes bible verses from the New Living Translation. I liked how easy to understand the verses are and bought my first NLT bible in January.

I discovered the NLT while reading the KJV/NLT parallel Bible. The NLT brought the scriptures alive to me – I didn’t have to translate the KJV into modern English anymore, for the NLT did that for me!

I was in a borderline cult that was pretty restrictive as to what version of Bible you should read. After the Grace of God lead me out of that I discovered the NLT and how wonderful it can be in bringing clarity to hard to understand verses.

God Bless you and thank you for all your work in the Lord!

I have recently picked up the NLT Study Bible and along with the NLT Life Application Bible find the NLT speaks so much to me today. I am a big supporter of the NLT and have watched it grow from the Living Bible and The Way to where it has come full circle today…and have never gotten tired of it’s life giving verses in a more updated translated version!

I was at a concert of the group Disciple. Kevin Young read from Hebrews 4 in the NLT and I loved the wording. I went home that night after the concert and found the NLT on youversion and I have been very amazed by this translation. It is beautifully worded. I am a recent grad from Bible college and always used the NIV or NASB but now all I want is the NLT!!! The only problem is I cannot currently afford a new Bible.

I filled out a form I found in the newspaper which simply stated “fill and send out if you need God.” I don’t know who placed the ad, but I filled it out and received a paperback NLT new testament. It changed my life. I wish I knew who it was that sent it…all he ever placed was a p.o. box. He or she really did the Lord’s work.

The Living Bible was the first Bible I read through. My dad would read it to me every morning before school. After the first time through I would read it on my own. Since then I’ve read through many of the translations that are available.

When I found out the Living Bible was to become a translation… from an scholarly group… I was excited.

My one disappointment has been that it is not marketed as aggressively (cover options, price, etc…) as the ESV.

I found the NLT truly by accident. I was sent a New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs, and I actually could understand what was being said. It is so much like the NKJV, but clearier and easier to read and understand.

God Bless

Hi, I heard a pastor use the New Living Translation and thought that it could help me understand some of the more difficult passages of Scripture. I think that it is one Bible that could be easily used for family devotions because the language is so plain.
