The weekly NLT giveaway is back and it’s a short one this week since we’ll be resuming our normal Thursday giveaway schedule on Thursday.
We’re giving away another copy of the NLT Parallel Study Bible, and this one has a really neat cover (see the picture below).
Discovery and Application on the Same Page for the First Time! Now you don’t have to choose between context and application. Expository study notes help you understand the Bible like a 1st-century believer. Number one–selling Life Application notes help you apply its truths in a 21st-century world. This Bible recognizes that Bible application is best done with a thorough knowledge of historical and literary context. The NLT Study Bible is excellent at establishing this base. The Life Application Study Bible content can then guide the reader in concrete steps toward application.
Here’s how you can win a copy of this Bible:
Leave a comment telling us why you think study notes in a Bible are important to a reader. We’ll choose one random commenter to win a copy of this Bible. Want an extra entry? Visit the Tyndale House Facebook page and become a fan, then let us know in your blog comment.
We’ll pick the winner on Thursday morning.
Thanks for stopping by!

UncategorizedThe convenience of having notes in your Bible as you are listening to the word of God taught. This convenience helps when short on time and cannot afford the resources for deeper study.
At last, my dream come true. If you prefer New Living Translation (NLT) as your Bible translation choice, this NLT Parellel Study Bible is the must have.
It combaines the NLT Study Bible and the Life Application Study Bible study notes and pictures, both are the award-winning and best-selling from Tyndale Publisher (the publisher of the Holy Bible, New Living Translation). So you have both at your hand in one place!
When you don’t understand the Bible and the passage that you are reading, the study notes open up all understanding, even if you do know or thought you knew what it means, you can get a better understanding with the study notes!
We should interpret the Bible verses without overriding or ignoring other verses. We should not use it for wrong application. Study notes helps us what the writer is talking about through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
in my long years of scripture studies i have realized that the more i know about it the better i understand. so i really would like to see how the NLT does this.
I’m a fan
Jeff
The NLT is a great translation in that its easy to read.
The NLT study bible contains notes to help you understand the context of what the bible is verse saying or been written.
The NLT LASB contains notes to help you put the bible verses to help you think about how we should be living today.
Study bibles are really useful in that they give me background to the verse or passage, You can translate the bible into modern english but if you don’t understand the context or what things meant at the time the author wrote the original then you miss lots of the message.
The bible text is way, way more important than study notes but study notes give someone else’s opinion. Which is helpful

I’m also a fan of the Tyndale Facebook page.
All done of Facebook NLT PAGE sure I have a discourage it forever Because I am Deafness and like learn the Bible Everysunday But Never win last year to Now. Thank you so much..
The study notes help make a passage clear when you aren’t sure.
I am a fan, what a clear translation.
As a student of the Bible, I really appreciate study notes. Without knowing the historical background of a passage, the meaning can be totally misperceived. Plus, there have been so many thoughtful scholars that have contributed to this translation. It’s a shame not to hear exactly what they think about a passage and why they chose the words they did. I really love the NLT best among modern translations and it would be amazing to engage with the text on a deeper level.
By the way, I “liked” Tyndale on Facebook. Thank you so much for all your hard work!
You know wehn I was young we were poor, and I walked through 3 miles of snow in my slippers to get to Sunday School, and all I learned was the exciting stories like Daniel in the lions den. But life is busy now, and I never did get my Hebrew toegether beyond knowing that a jot and a tittle are tiny marks. Study notes help me out with the more obscure stuff. And life appliation notes – now that sounds interesting, maybe even practical. Probably has something about the value of vegetarianism, ya think?
Study notes are especially good for new believers. They helped explain to me some of the harder-to-understand messages of the Bible. And plus, they give relevance to the Word of God for today’s believers.
I posted my fav verse on facebook. I Peter 5:6-7
Sounds really neat. I have a hard time reading the bible because it is hard to understand. This sounds fantastic! Good luck to me and everyone else!!
Posted on the Facebook page (“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works…”) Would love the Parallel Bible instead of having the big pile of multiple translations during serious study.
I just posted on the NLT Facebook Wall ….
Malachi 3:10 “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!” – A word from God that has never come back void and stands true for me every time.
Study notes in a Bible may well help to start your thinking processes on a verse or passage, especially one that you are “stuck” on.

I just “liked” Tyndale Publishing and added a recommendation.
