The New Living Translation
Clarity of Vision

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.” (Proverbs 29:18).

I love that we serve a God who gives wonderful and even perfect gifts (James 1:17). He enables us to serve others in different ways through teaching, creating, and encouraging (1 Corinthians 12:12-28). No matter what gifts you have, what’s even more important is vision. Solomon said those who don’t have a vision go crazy!

It’s impossible to have clarity if you don’t know where you’re going. It’s even tougher to serve others well without vision. In the days and weeks to come ask God to give you a vision for your life, family, and career. Then ask for the courage to obey!

Hi Renee!

I just got to think about what you wrote here. I asked God a while back to show me what he wants me to do about certain situation in my life. I think the hard part of all is what you said in your last sentence. Obey! Even when we don’t like the answer we need to obey because it is what God wants us to do. I need to pray about courage to obey too. Thanks for the reminder.

May God bless you,

Thanks for your reminder about having vision and without it you go crazy. The world/media tells us to look within for our vision or purpose but I believe we need to look outside ourself and our needs to even begin to get a vision of what God would have us do. I’m still grieving the loss of my 18yr old son and I feel as tho I have no vision at all. So thank you for reminding me to ask. He is faithful and good all the time.
